February word of the month is
Cooperation

K-6

In our character education classes, we will be working on social skills along with how to show gratitude.  This is important as the holidays approach.  Students will be encouraged to show appreciation not only for the gifts they are given, but also the time that families and friends spend together.  While holidays are a time of fun, they can also be stressful, so students will be reminded to be good helpers.  I hope that you enjoy the holidays.

As Montpelier's elementary school counselor, I work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that each student is afforded the opportunity to move toward their greatest potential academically, personally, and socially. Elementary Counseling Services are delivered through these four basic forms of intervention:

  • Individual Counseling - 1-on-1 brief, short term guidance with a   student.
  • Small Group Counselinggroup counseling with 4-8 students on a specific topic.
  • Classroom Guidanceclassroom lessons covering a variety of issues from social skills to bullying prevention.
  • Consulting with Parents, Administrators, Teachers, and other community resources.

Meeting with Ms. Fry

I encourage you to contact me at any time throughout the school year to discuss how I might best serve your child's needs.  A collaborate relationship with your child's school counselor can ensure that he or she is headed in the right direction.  I do not have all the answers, but I do have infinite resources and am always willing to help you in any way possible!  I am here for you as an advocate for  students.
